Default "new" turbo is perfect accept.....

hey i finally got my turbo. it is a 2006 wrx turbo TD04L. it is in pretty good shape no shaft play at all but, the internal waste gate is open. i can move the actuator arm, but it just seems to stop early can it be adjusted? it looks like i just need to loosen that nut a little. but what do you guys think? here are a few more pics.

Straighten out the actuator arm. It looks like it was dropped and bent in shipment.

if u have to u can cut a tad bit off like an eighth of an inch and re weld it back together so it stay shut.. just make it so its snug and the circle part wont spin around when its closed .. too tight and you will boost more than u might want to.

The actuator arm looks like it was in an accident, or was bent straight. Putting the stock bends back will also tighten up the WG arm, along with the nut adjustment.

actually isnt there an adapter plate that covers the hole and allows you to eliminate the internal wastegate all together?

That obviously would work but wouldnt an adapter plate be a cleaner way to do it? I just dont know if adapter plates like the one I'm thinking of are available for all turbos, because I've only seen them for the T3's.

pop to C clip off the arm loosen the jam not screw the tab in to where the gate is completely shut vola..done. And also on the FP red turbos you can twist the WG arm and adjust them s well!
