why is it bogging down at low rpm, help!
the car is fairly stock with short ram intake and nothing else
all the parts are oem from 91.
at cruising with low rpm about 2-3k the car will bogg. the feeling is similiar to it not getting enough gas or air.
if i gas it hard it will go but if i just feather the gas pedal it will not be responsive.
during the bogg on steady low rpm, i can hit the gas harder it will go again and not bogg in higher rpm's.
it won't stall but it does feel like it wants to. being im still cruising at about 2-3k rpm it wont get a chance to stall. this issue has been progressive every time i drive it. it seems to be the worst when i dont drive the car for more then a day. the bogging will be less apparent when i drive it again, happening only a few miles instead of everything time during the drive.
whats the problem?
i dont know where to start looking to resolve this issue.

First off, change the fuel filter and do a mild tune up...cap rotor wires plugs.....
If it still does it..change the fuel pump. After that, its an electrical prblm.

thanks. i think what you mentioned seems like something that might fix my problem. when i purchased the car i dont think any maintenance or tune up were done. all the parts are still oem. the only thing i changed was the oil, oil filter, air filter, and spark plugs. i did start to get problems with the master brake cylinder so i guess all these other things would start to go bad. ill definitly do what you advised. thanks again.
i asked this same question in another forum. fuel filter seems to come up as a replacement concern. since i am new to a 91, are the fuel filters a common issue with these cars?
