Default Vibration on Acceleration

I am getting a vibration on acceleration.

From the searches I have done on here and S2ki It seems this most likely is the Inner CV cups on the driveshafts

Does anybody have any other input? It is possible to be a U Joint? or Should I look at getting the Driveshafts replaced?

yeah accel. only would be CV's....either swap the axles to different sides for a somewhat temp. fix, or buy new ones.....

wait...on the driveshaft? I doubt that.....they are called axles

I am going to get CV joints checked on Monday and the Diff and Trans fluid changed.

Now that i do some more checking I think it is the front tires. They are the original Bridgestone Potenza S02s and there worn down smooth almost to the belts I think that may be my problem.

Buddy replaced the Rear tires before he sold me the car so I am going to get the fronts replaced next week I am hoping that is the problem.

Honda wants $750 per axle. I can get them thru Carquest Auto Parts for $200 a piece though so that is what I would do if needed. Did a little checking and the driveshaft itself has no U Joints so no need to worry there.

Now If i could stop the seatbeat from rubbing on my seat and making a racket I would be happy.

Service the inner CV boots if needed. Retorque axle nuts on the spindle to 220 lb/ft.

if vibration is coming when underload, the CV cup is wearing down. The left side should be the defected one. This is usually a common issue with AP1's that have been lowered or is lowered since it causes driveshafts to sit unproperly. I've had this problemand the quickest fix is a cv joint swap from lft to right.

Although, try tighetning down your rear axle nut too in the back. I believe its needs to be retorqued down to 215ft lbs.

although, all fingers are pointed to the cv joints. Hopefully, this is the answer

I've got the same description as the OP...however mine feels like it would be an engine mount because I feel the vibration frequency relative to the engine RPM, not the vehicle speed. I haven't driven much since I got back from my road trip, and haven't been on the highway, so since the trunk was emptied I haven't noticed it since. I remember when I bought the car (loaded the trunk of course which would lower it) it had this issue...I recently lowered the car and noticed it again, but like I said, that was with a loaded trunk as well. I'll check for it tomorrow.

I am pretty much %99.9 sure it is my axles now.

Took it to a large empty parking lot tonight and put it in reverse took the car up to 65 Km/h or 40 Mph and it was smooth as can be with no vibration at all. Stop and put it in first and accelerate to the same speed and she vibrates like crazy.

I guess the workaround would be to swap axles positions but the car is going away for the winter so I will probably just get new axles for it in the spring.

This car is killing with wear Items. First All new brakes and tires and now axles.

Oh well you gotta pay to play.

I'm having the exact same problem. A friend told me that my drive shaft isn't balanced? It was because when Honda replaced my clutch years ago, they didnt balance it?? I dont know any ideas??

It doesn't affect performance, but it gets annoying when I get on it...feels like a jet lifting off due to vibration.

^^^ Your driveshaft wouldnt get unbalanced if they changed the clutch. Think about it they just took the driveshaft out of the car and put it in when they were done cause they needed to drop the tranny. If you take your wheel(rim and tire togather) off the hub and put it back on it dosent get unbalenced. I highly doubt it got unbalnced during the clutch swap. The only way I can think off it getting unbalanced is if one of the wieghts thats welded on falls off but I dont think thats too likely. its somehting els

Well had my axles replaced and the car drives smooth as can be now.

That was exactly what it was. Good thing i listened to people on here and S2ki because all the local mechanics and the Honda Dealership were like that cannot be it.
