very bad shaking when i get on the gas at higher speeds
it seems to be getting worse. only when im getting over 50 MPh, and only when i get on the gas, it shakes, well, more like vibrates. if my axles are bad, would that casue it? if the tires were unbalenced, it would vibrate all the time. not only when i get on the gas.
is new axles a good idea?

Re: very bad shaking when i get on the gas at higher speeds (johnd)
the cv joints are generally known for clicking when turning. Mine have been clicking in turns for 5+ years with no associated vibrations.
I have a civic here that has started vibrating at higher speeds that i need to diagnose. It goes along with a sort of quiet clunky noise tho, and the axels are low milage. I'm wondering about wheel bearings, but they are usually more raspy/grindy, and without the shakeys. So i've got a mystery too.
incidentally, everytime i had vibration problems in my teg its been bad tire balance, alignment...or badly or unevenly worn tires (as a result). Everytime in 12+ years (with no noises).
