I used 3m, and prepped the area by cleaning with alcohol

USE 3M PART # 06382 FOR 1/2 " WIDE OR USE 3M # 06383 FOR 7/8" WIDE BOTH ARE IN 20 FOOT ROLLS AND THIS STUFF WILL HOLD YOUR LIP KIT ON. IT'S HOLDING ON MY WINDS WEST RS LIP KIT RIGHT NOW, BEEN ON FOR 6 MONTHS NO PROBLEM

3m double sided is the way to go. make sure you clean the lip itself and where you will be mounting it too. you could use alcohol, but wax and grease remover (buy at paint supply store) works better. also you may want to look for a spot that is not visable to run some screws into the bottom of your bumper and/or splash guard. this is what i did where i work at this local body shop and it has held strong for 3+ years.

also FYI for anyone modding the outside of any vehicle that is painted. do not use products with silicone in them, regardless of how small the concentration. silicone it its own molecule and even after the product (adhesives, waxes, even tire dressings) is fully cured the silicone molecules slowly get released from the product or residue remaining. if you ever have to do any paint work in that area you will have problems. silicone causes FISHEYES in freshly spayed paint (which looks really bad ask any body shop). look for similar products that do not contain the silicone.
