.....not very. Still uses your stock sensor.

Try wideband for something accurate. The DIY one is about the same price and much more dead-on for accuracy.

It uses the sensor pictured above (the one with the yellow wire). I think it is a standard 02 sensor though.

PB - who has one of these but hasn't installed it yet because he can't find a place to put it

Believe it or not they are pretty damn accurate. Ran mine in parallel to a WideBand O2 @ the dyno... wasn't off by more then .2 in any one spot. Make sure you set it properly on the brain otherwise it'll bounce all over the place.

Yes, its a standard O2 sensor.. and yes, it comes with its own; doesnt use the stock O2's. (Although, it CAN.)

On a side note, I REALLY wish you could change the colors of them. I like the silver gauge, but I wanted black to keep my interior as much the same (black) as possible... too bad it lights up green. The silver is actually a very close match to the stock color of the R's interior. (And it does match 2G DSM's, too.)

RTFM. In english, read the f*cking manual.

Anywho, there is a button on the back of the brain, in which you push and it will read 9:1, 11:1, 13:1 and 15:1... those are the settings to tell the sensor what type of exhaust it will be received to properly diagnose it. I'm not sure whats what, I believe 9:1 is high pressure (boost+awd+hot) 11:1 is high pressure (boost/awd cars and sensor is farther back) and 13:1 and 15:1 are low pressure, close and further respectively. Again, RTFM and it will tell all.

BTW - if anybody is in need of one, let me know. I can get them fairly cheap. ($250 shipped) for white/black... silver ones are on backorder.

The second "button" type thing on the right... (the one all the way to the right.) Is where you push in to set it. Do this with the car OFF, and the ignition ON.

what a/f ratio whould be good to run safe
Steady State Conditions
Idle 14.7:1
full load= 13.2:1

Transient Conditions
Acceleration= no richer than 12.7:1
Deceleration= no leaner than 17.1:1
Starting and warmup= between 11.0:1 and 10.3:1

How do you set it properly?? I have one installed and i could only read it at full throttle. Thanks.
WOT(open loop) is the only place where an A/F meter, without a wide-band O2 sensor, is accurate enough to tune by. In closed loop, the O2 cross-counts are too high to get an accurate reading.
