hi i was wondering what would get damaged if te rear balance shaft was not lined up properly when installing a balance shaft belt on a 94 honda accord 2.2 engine. thanks for your input

 

The engine will be out of balance and you may feel it, follow the manual and a 1/4 inch extension, I believe that is what most folks use to find the notch in the shaft.

 

i am getting a loud noise like something i hitting, could i have damaged something?

 

You are going to have to follow directions on re-timing the balance shaft, also it is common to over tighten the balance belt and its tensioner bracket rattles, it only needs its own spring tension, lots of folks like to make it tighter by hand and then lock down the tensioner.
