Default Building up and Civic

Hey I just bought a bone stock 91 civic dx hatch. I was wondering what would be the best engine and drive train swap? and also best intake and exhaust systems? and any other mods as im new to the civic scene and imports.

Thanks for any help.

There are alot of swaps available how much do you want to spend?
You have a very good platform to start with they make alot of parts
for that platform

If you have that much to spend, then buy a real car.

you have alot of options with that kind of cash are you sure you want to put that
much into an dx, type R swap is stock 200 horse with stock reliability at around
4k for parts you can go turbo ls for the same money at about 250 horse but
needs more attention to tuning. Do you like the intake noise or do you like
the blow off sound, either wouls be sick just depends on what you like.
Mine has a b18c5 and it sound sick at 8600 rpms and runs low 14s with a
stock motor and if thats not fast enouph with nitrous it's mid 13s.
Are you doing the work or is a shop.

OP, I would recommend doing more research to find out which motor swap application would best suit your needs. Each swap is different in regards to performance, price, and difficulty of labor. Here are a couple of write-up's that should help to get you going:

Good advice.

Do a lot of reading and make your own decisions. READ READ READ...and then SEARCH.

And most of all.....ignore all the trial users telling you what to do.

No, that "rd91..." guy used to be an '03 until he started trolling in kills.

Anyways, OP, you need to read around and find what's best for you. Visit the Hybrid, All Motor, and Forced Induction forums, also read all the FAQs you can. that should give you a good starting base. there is no "best" engine, drivetrain, etc.
