Default skunk2 cams q's

hey everyone i am looking into getting some better cams in my JDM B16A and want to go with some skunk2's. i was wondering what the difference is between the stage 2 cams, and the pro 2 cams.

pro2's are a lot bigger. they want more compression and displacement than stage2's.

i am looking to get good gains through the rpm range. im assuming the pros will provide more power and i want to rebuild a head with 0.5mm larger valves w/ Ti ratainers and springs along with pro 2 cams and cam gears.... i know expensive but i want a decent NA build before i throw 8-10 pounds of boost on it for a DD... or should i get the turbo cams?

if you're considering boost dont bother with cams. b16 cams work great with boost. pro2's have been shown to make nice numbers with boost, but those are built setups making well over 500whp.

valve to valve clearances are tight with stock sized valves and pro2's. you want to go .5mm over which makes them even tighter. pro2's arent going to work well with stock compression. and i dont see why you'd wanna bump compression if you'll just be boosting later on.

i see what your saying it that makes sense.... i just want to get as much SAFE hp out of a stock bottom end on 8 pounds of boost (10 at the track) as possible on my DD EJ1. I really want the GT28R... im not sure what kind of HP that will give me on 8 psi and a stock motor.

without knowing the exact size of the gt28 you're considering i wanna say 13-15psi will give you ~300whp which is the max hp you should shoot for on a stock b16. remember, do not base your decisions on psi, hp will break things.

when you dont say determine my decision on PSI you mean to determine it by HP? i would love to have 250-275 WHP.

yes, healthy stock b16's and b18c's can easily handle 300-350whp with a proper fuel system and tuning.
