Need help with Stereo! 03 Accord
Sup! I purchased a new kit that basically repositions the dials for the AC and puts the radio in the middle. I purchased a wiring kit that controls the AC however there is only 1 plug coming from the car and hooks up to the new wiring harnest. The smaller end is just there. Can't find where it plugs into. Also, when I do plug just that 1 in, smoke starts to come out. Everything lights up on the panel but I have no control over the AC. Where does this plug go? I'll post a pic tomorrow to make it easier to recognize what I am talking about.
if it smokes.. its a bad thing....
check your fuses for anything blown..
Do you know the make and model number of the kit you bought?
that would help, along with pictures...

shouldn't smoke, but did you hold down the AC button when you hooked up the harness. if you read the manual for the kit it says you need to program the new hvac dash by turning your car on and holding the AC button.

The plug that is wrapped in black is the one that I don't know where it goes. The plug over it plugs right into a plug coming from the car. Once I plug them together, the AC kicks right on however, I have no control over it. I am guess the plug in black controls the whole unit. The single green/yellow wire is the reason the kit smokes. Once I unpug it, everything is fine but when I plug it in, smoke comes out. I must have plugged it in the wrong spot in the fuse box under the hood. Has anyone installed one of these kits?
Unplug the wire, and program the kit as it states in the instructions...
Are there pins on the black-wrapped plug? It looks like there's some sort of board/componentry directly behind the body of the green plug... Maybe it's some sort of emulator that makes that car thing the factory radio is still there???
What do the instructions say about this wire that you've got running to the fuse box? Where exactly did you connect it?

It says to "connect the 22-way green plug of the dual zone harness to the installation kit and connect the 22-way and 16-way green caps of the dual zone harness to their mates in the vehicle."
You still haven't answered my question about the small-gauge green/yellow wire...
And you still haven't answered the question of whether or not you programmed the unit per the instructions?

They yellow/green wire hasn't been reconnected because that is only for the rear defroster so when I get the unit working, I'll plug that in the right spot. Also, I tried programming the unit but I can't because the other plug controls the buttons/***** soo it can't be programmed until I find out where this f*cking plug goes. It's pissing me off already as you can see lol
does your oem radio/hvac controls even have dual climate control?
if you're using this kit and your car is not equipped to do so, i believe you MIGHT have gotten the wrong kit. i didn't have T-connector as it seems as you do in the picture when i installed my radio into my 06 accord. but i also didn't have dual climate control.
