Default please help, weird AC issue

new to this board, working on my girls 2007 accord coupe ex. she recently bought this car and it had an after market metro 99-7864 AC console for the single din radio the previous owners installed.

this kit was only blowing AC out of the front vents. you can't run the front window defrost or change the temperature; cold air blowing in your face only.

i just tried installing a new metro kit, 99-7803 so i could install a double din with GPS. weird thing is, this new kit is behaving the same way. also, when first installed, you are to press the rear defrost button for 5 seconds and then the kit will program itself to your car, auto / manual AC, single / dual climate; it's supposed to read from the car what type of system it is. thing is, it goes into a programming loop and will remain like that (i've left it for 10 minutes, supposed to take 30 seconds to program) until power is killed to the car.

i tried metro customer support (this is my second 99-7803 kit, same results on both) and they think it's not communicating with the car and is stuck in a loop.

anyone have any thoughts as to why this communication isn't working? I think once it's programmed we would get full function from the unit, i.e. defrost, foot air, etc. but it won't "connect" to the car. is there an AC control box somewhere that may have gone bad?

please help! any ideas appreciated.

since that is an aftermarket unit, I think you need to go directly to there Customer service or a forum that specializes in them.

i did call their tech support and they said they believed that it was not communicating with the car. so, my question really is, where does the signal go from the plug that plugs into the AC control? where does that lead, what does it connect to?

somewhere down the line, the car can't communicate with it and maybe there is something that i can check
