i dont want to go to the shop to do an oil change since my car is dropped, so do you know where i can find those low ramps i can use...? it'll help a lot if you do and thankz a bunch!

 

Just drive on to a couple of wooden boards and then use a regular jack. If your car is so low that you can't get a jack under it, you'll almost certainly scrape trying to drive up the inclined ramps.

You can also purchase jacks that have a lower profile that will go clear the bumper

 

Some shop out there will use wood to extand the ramp so lower cars can go on.

 

yeah i thought about getting a low profile jack but at the same time i want to save some money. but until then i'll use the wood idea for now.. thankz!

just buy a $100 low profile jack from costco. It's aluminum, and if you ever break it you can return it.

Any low profile jack should fit underneath the side skirt area where the lift points are.

If not, you can use my ingeneous method: I use this on my S2000.

You can take a stock jack. Put it on the rear lift point (the little plate under the side skirt). Lift up the car a bit and then put your hydraulic jack underneath the front lift point.

OR: civics and integras can pretty much be lifted by anywhere along the pinch rail as long as you have a jack with a big lifting pad. My jack's lifting pad is around 4'' or so. Like the lifting pad of a inground lift. If you have that, you dont have to nessacarily put it under the lift points. Find anywhere along the pinch rail (side skirt area) and lift. That's how I roll. My civic was pretty freaking low:



My S2000 is low too...but not that low.

 

yeah thatz just about where my car dropz to. but i'll try the wood first, didnt really think about it cuz i barely have and wood plankz lying around the yard..

 

I just take my stock jack to lift it up until the hydraulic can finally fit under the car. then just pump away.

 

If it's only an inch or so just have a friend lift on the fender... Worked for me b4..

 

my buddies and i usually drive over a brick or piece of wood and that usually gives you clearance.

haha that can be very useful but the thing is.. i can't really work on it
yet until my dayz off from work. i'm at work right now just lookin up thingz,
and since im new with this whole project car thing i might as well ask around also.

One day your fender will crinkle. An exhaust shop did that to my EK. I was ever so pissed. That's why I NEVER lift up on the fender.

I put big books to use. i drive on top of books then jack it up. don't have wood use a book.

as said above, drive the car up onto a couple of blocks of wood and then should have enough clearance for the jack! had to do that plenty of times with my old car!

It's pretty cheap too! I found that a long time ago when I looking for some how to's for my 1998.......mustang GT . Then i got smart and bought a Honda. Mustangs suck, they don't have VTACK. Just kidding.

 

Dig a small hole in the ground and back it long enough so you can exist from the rear or front.

I said the fender because I didn't feel like typing much, I didn't really think of it bending. Sorry for that, haha. Usually we lift somewhere right under/behind the fender, near the jack spot. Still maybe unsafe, but it hasn't failed me yet... lol. Yet.

 

just use your stock jack from honda.. and just do your oil change by yourself.. it saves you more money..

i am planning on doing it myself just that i need an idea of getting the front up since itz dropped. so basically itz try to find a jack that would fit under the car or use woodz... thankz!
