p06 ecu to vtec question
I'am about to buy this conversion kit for my p06

But i dont quite understand. How can the p06 control vtec when it originally did not have it just by this kit? Does it require a chipping kit for the vtec, or is that conversion kit for $20 all i need. I just want a stock p28 program. Is this chipping kit all i need?
What chip controls the vtec crossover point if I were just to do this conversion? Also, i live in texas and i have heard that if you do a obd2 to obd1 conversion, they can still smog you, but you will have to go on a dyno, which is find. Is that true? thanks

If you don't understand you most likely aren't highly skilled in soldering, which is an ability you will need to chip your own ECU...
It will just enable Vtec on your ECU, it will not change your revlimit *Like the P28 Program does* You will need to have your ECU chipped to run a P28 Program
Phearble.net is another option that I opted for *My ECU is with them right now*
Ship your ECU to them along with $100 and you get a Chipped ECU Back setup for your car and mods exactly. along with several other options.

my soldering capabilities are fine, but i just dont understand the vtec conversion that well
So if what I really want is a ecu that is identical to a p28 manual stock? will i get that starting with a p06 and doing the vtec conversion? or do i need to the chipping kit as well? thanks

Yes, and make sure to get a chip burned with the stock P28 #304 code.
