Default Brake

I have a question. Car 1994 Honda Accord lx automatic 4door

1. Other than the price what is the difference between the Fast Brakes drum to rotor conversion and buying the rear end off a junk yard?
I will appreciate the input.

Thank you

Carlos

i would be super hesitant to buy any suspension/brake parts off a junkyard. just because they have been sitting out in the weather, and the fact that you might come up short on hardware...
cant go wrong with brand new product... cuz i dont think junkyards offer any type of warranties (sp?)

I bought some suspension parts off a junkyard before, when I hit a curb.

I ended up buying a LCA, radius rod, sway bar and the rear beam of the front subframe. The LCA ended up being bent, found out about a month later when I went to install it, they took it back without any problems and got a replacement. The radius rod was wrong, for an automatic. The refunded me my money cause they couldn't find the right one. The sway bar was from a LX when I had an EX and wanted an EX replacement, they refunded my money on that as well. The subframe was fine, no problems. The two parts I had to get refunds on they didn't charge a restock fee either cause it was their fault, no problems at all. So you just have to find the right junkyards with warranties. Usually they have something like 90 days or until installed on parts like the suspension.

I wouldn't be REAL concerned about buying brake parts like that from a junkyard. Just be prepared to replace lines, rotors, pads and maybe bearings. Basically just know that you have stuff to replace and that you cant just buy it and install it, it'll need some work. And again, make sure you have some sorta of warranty so that if you find something is bent or otherwise un-usable you can return it.
