Default Fitting twin-loop on a 92-95 Hatch

Anyone have one on? I know its a pretty big canister but the guys at the shop said there is no way to fit it without hitting suspension or having the loop hang down under the muffler which would cause it to scrape. I think these guys are being pretty lazy but just checking with other people first.

i've got one on mine. it fit fine they had to mod the piping cause the catback i had was off a teggy but other than that it went well. it knocked around for a bit but after about a week it stoppped. i would suggest having someone you trust do it though. lucky for me my friend owns an exhaust shop otherwise they would have charged be bout 200 bucks

Ok, the only reason its making me mad is because its the shop I usually go to but some guy from another store is covering the manager who I take all of my works vehicles to. This guy seems like he really doesn't wanna help out, I'll just take my money somewhere else.

What TL cannister are you using? Hytech uses 2 different length cans, 10" & 12", to accomodate different chassis clearances. The EG uses a 10" can. I found this out after trying to adapt my 12" DC2 can onto my EG. Here are some pics of a Hytech on an EG for reference.

Mine is the OBX, its pretty big, I know it can fit but space is pretty tight. The previous muffler that was on there is waaaayy gone, been driving w/o one for about half year after it rusted off. This car was in horrible shape i'm trying to bring it back. The thing is the piping that is on there comes out pretty far past the LCA so they would have to cut back on that. The tip has no angle so I wasn't sure which side the loop was to be on but after messing around it looks like the only way is to have it like RStoR has it. I'll measure it and if its 12" I'll just sell it and get a 10"

Yes. The imitation even, so I know your situation exactly.

The hell it will. Mine tucks beautifully with that offset outlet, moreso than any canister style exhaust I've ever had. Note that while thinking about being unique and non-descript, I decided to have the flared tip removed, and replaced it with one that matched the piping diameter. It's a dark picture, but take a look.

It's tucked, you can't see the canister, or the loop, because they both fit up underneath the rear bumper just fine. They even clear my rear lower tie bar. Sounds great too.

Go give your money to someone else who can visualize it better.

Cool, thanks for the advice, I'm def gonna take it to my old exhaust guys this weekend. They actually take time to lift the car and not just tell me it won't work or they won't do it. Thats a pretty good idea about changing the tip, I'll have to think about that. I was def gonn apint it black though, looks way too gawdy for me.

I had an OBX 2.5 twin loop on my hatch and it worked well and looked perfect. (I also had a 2.25" Mugen before that but money talks).

The obx will fit but I'd recommend you get a muffler man with some skill because it is a big cannister for the EG and will not look right or might knock about if the guy does not do a good job. Of course you will need to get the over axle piping modded to make it weld up nicely.

Yeah the guys I am gonna go to specialize in custom exhausts, they've done everything from my turbo cars to my trucks. Only reason I didn't go there was because I can't get in until this weekend and the place I went today was next door to my office. Guess I need more patience.

Haha, good idea. I set the thing down the night before I had it put on, and gave it a few coats of flat black. I too, thought it was too gaudy, and was looking to seriously make it not noticeable. I was replacing my Apex'i N1, which had been getting me far too many tickets/ref visits for no reason at all.
