Default 96-98 & 99-00 digital climate control query

just wondered if anyone can help me with my query

I have a friend looking in japan for a complete 99-00 spec digital climate control to go into my EK (which is RHD just not to get confused!), he has come across the 96-98 spec digital climate control, which im not keen on( prefer the 99-00 spec one) but what i wanted to know are the heater boxes for both the same?(the 3 big black things behind the dash!), if they are, can i just use the 96-98 spec electricly operated heater boxes and just hook them upto the 99-00 digital climate control console? or is it more involved than that?

i know that the normal 96-98 spec heater boxes are cable operated, where as as we all know the 96-98 & 99-00 digital ones are electrically operated

help!!!

thanks

thanks for the link, but that doesnt answer my question unfortunately, i know that the 96-98 spec cable operated boxes are different to the 99-00 electric ones, im trying to find out if the JDM 96-98 electric climate control console (not the cable operated one) uses the same heater boxes as a 99-00 spec one, can anyone confirm this?

cheers

Yes, the 96-98 digital one will work, you just need to have the correct wiring.

sorry to sound dumb, just to clarify!

i can use the 96-98 spec electrically operated heater boxes with the 99-00 spec electrically operated climate control console, providing i have the loom that goes from the 99-00 spec console into the main heater core harness correct?

thanks again!
