The Club Racer S2000 has ZERO power gains over a regular S2k.
With a weight savings of 99lbs or 44.9kg achieved by taking off amenities like a/c, soundproofing and the electric folding roof, and with added stiffening and revised settings
Not a supercar does that make.

Improved suspension and aerodynamics. Last I checked the J's racing car ran in a handful of time attacks with a stock F22 last year. A capable chassis and great suspension a competetive car does make.

I thought that

I think it was Car and Driver....but they tested the new s2000CR against a regular s2000 and it was 3 seconds faster around a track. 3 seconds is a lot faster without any power boost.
Now can you do that with your own modified s2000? Probably.

Yeah but an S2000cr will be priced up somewhere very near the $40K price range. Maybe more if you go to the wrong dealer. It's just not in me to spend that kinda money on a car with no standard A/C or stereo system.
that ctr easily defeated the stock s2k, both drivers are professional race car drivers and you can tell that ctr was just waiting to take the s2k

I'm not sure if you've researched it but the new Type R has lapped every Honda faster except for the NSX-R
