Default VAFC Question

Hey,

I have a eg with a B18C that is chipped but I have a vafc aswell. Its pretty much there just for the vtec engangment point. Well getting to the question I was thinking on gettin a air fuel ration quage (I already have a oil pressure and volts). Some one told me that my vafc could display this info. Sounds about right since it is a air fuel ratio controller. Is this true and if so how?

Chipped with what?

Don't get me wrong, but it sounds like you don't know enough to mess around with a VAFC. You will damage your engine if you don't know exactly what you're doing.

Yes, it would be better for you to get an opinion from a reputable professional tuning shop in your area. It would most likely work out better if you don't mess with it at all yourself. Ask them if it's possible for you to have the VAFC installed with the chipped ECU. Myself, I'd recommend not using it at all, but I'm biased against those pieces of crap.

Im not talking about messing with all the air fuel ratios. I was just wondering if the vafc 2 had a way of displaying the afr's just like it shows the revs and such instead of gettin a guage

Hm. From personal experience, I couldn't tell you. Maybe you should read up on the instructions, I'm sure it will cover the features. Either that, or you could contact the company that made it and ask them (I would assume Apex'i?)

Yes it can, or at least mine did. Mine was one of the first generations to come out though if it matters. It is one of the views that you can set the display to show you. With the one that I had it would show you up to three parameters at a time on the display. You can go to apexi's website and download the owners manual. The manual tells you how to set the display up for this function. I would go look at mine but I sold the car that it was in and my new swap is running crome. My bad, I was thinking you said you had a safc. I second the poster below, just get a gauge.

NO, if you have a vafc 1 or II

they do not give a/f ratio's, safc and neo's will do this i have had 2 of each neither of the vafcs had it sorry. just spend 50 on a guage and 50 on a pod it's worth it

If it's already tuned by the computer - don't dick w/ the tune w/ a VAFC.

You can just buy a wideband o2 sensor and gauge - that doesn't have anything to do with adjusting the A/F ratio (just displays).
