Default CHANGE PRELUDE BOLT PATTERN FROM 4x114.3 to 4x100???

Heres what happened.
I got a smokin deal on FRD rims for my Prelude. The problem is, these rims are 4x100.

Heres the thing tho, I can get Integra GSR slotted and drilled rotors and calipers and everything virtually for free. And because the lugs are connected to the rotors that therefor changes my bolt pattern to 4x100 if i understand correctly.

Is this a bad thing or is it ok or what? i really don't know here just want opinions. Or will it even work? Thanks,

Jordan

Lugs? Lugs nuts? Lug nuts don't connect to the rotors.. The Lugs go on the Studs... And the Studs do not connect to the Rotor, they're connect to the Hub?
So no, that's not going to change your Bolt Pattern to 4x100.

I've never heard of someone converting the Prelude to 4x100.. It's possible to do 5x114 though for sure.. Looks like you're going to have to either sell the rims or get a converter to use the wheels.

Sleepyh22, I don't know how he would be downgrading from stock from what he posted..

alright sorry, real tired. Let me explain further.

Basically I would be getting everthing I need off the GSR to convert it to 4x100. The only reason why i considered doing this is because the GSR calipers and rotors are better then mine and my breaks need to be done anyways. Also because all the equipment off the GSR is free, and its not like I would notice a difference in strength by downsizing the bolt pattern would i?

I have no idea if the Integra Hub/Knuckle Assembly would fit on the Prelude.. I believe the Integra Rotors are the same size as VTEC Rotors, but I don't know the size of the Integra Caliper Piston, but I think it's the same or close to that of the Prelude, so I dunno if you'd want to use them or not.

Notice a Difference in Strength from changing the Bolt Pattern? No, you won't notice anything.. And it's not going to change any "strength" with a swap like that I wouldn't think.

The studs are not connected to the rotor...you need to understand more about suspension stuff before you do anything. Just try to sell the wheels because your Integra conversion is probably not going to work.

The ITR has the same same pattern as a Prelude, but not the regular Integra.

From what I read he's doing this more for the better brake setup which he can get for free.

From what I'm reading, it isn't any better.
It's his car though. If he wants to do something off the wall like that, and he succeeds, more power to him. I just think there's a reason Honda upgraded to 4x114 on the heavier Prelude instead of 4x100 on the lighter Integra and Civic.

if the OP has a vtec lude the integra brakes are a down grade, going from 11 inch to 10 inch is not good...

Its the 2.3 si , and my breaks are shot right now so i figure i can't lose. I can always switch back when I need new breaks again, wont keep the wheels for more then a year or two anways. Its mostly about the free breaks and cheap wheels and rubber for some style.

That's what I couldn't think of the other night... To tired..
I do not think the Prelude Axles will fit in the Integra Hubs.

So you will not be able to do this period then, without Custom Axles.. And that's just going way overboard...

I have to guess that GSR and PSi brakes are about the same......
Are your calipers, rotors, and pads shot?

first good advice in this thread. the calipers probably won't bolt up either.

i was referring to.. changing the prelude to 4X100 would be a downgrade if any...if he was going to 5X114.3 for some badass wheels i could understand it or if he only had some 5 lug wheels. I personally would never changed the 4th gens hubs (to swap to 4x100) either leave it 4x114.3 or UPgrade to 5x114.3...5th gen hubs FTMFW

Ah, ok Sleepy.

4x114 can be a hard bolt pattern to find, and do not normally have as many options compared to 4x100 and 5x114. But if know where to look and have connections, you can find and get anything..
