My synchros are f-cked
I've got a little over 23k. Changed the tranny fluid at 15K, this all seemed to happen after I installed a DC short shifter. One person I was talking to said the shift fork might be bent and that could cause the problem, does this sound possible, or is the synchro wear normal due to hard driving for a long time?
what are the symptoms? Check your clutch master cylinder, I'm going through this with my GS-R right now. Check the fluid, if it's really nasty and black, the rubber seal might be going bad. Also check the clutch pedal, where the cylinder goes through the firewall. If it's leaking fluid then it's time to replace, and will be a hell of a lot cheaper than new synchros
[edit] though this is an '01, so I doubt it

Basically when I shift at redline into 3rd and even somtimes 4th the gears grind. Clutch is completely activated. If I take my time and smoothley shift into gear at redline sometimes it wont grind but usually it does. Only 3rd and 4th no other gears...

Mine grinds in 3rd at redline. 8000 shift is fine but 8500 it grinds a little.
18,000 miles of smooth shifting.

It's a real pain in the *** isn't it? Do you have a short throw or stock shifter. I don't think thats causing the problem but just curious...
It's sucks but now its time for an FD.
