DIY rear speaker install
Does any one have a write up or knows a link/site for me to look at for a DIY rear speaker swap/change/installation on a 2003 civic coupe. I heard it's a Beech to DIY but I don't want to pay just to have it installed at a shop such as bestbuy or whatnot. Anything will help.
if this has already been posted or what not. link me to it. if this have already been asked. uh.. do what you do to newbie threads, lol. thanks.

Whats wrong with best buy or what not? Seriously, I need to know cause I'm thinking of going there myself, but since you mentioned it....I'm kind of worried.
bolt and unbolt. real easy. juss loook at all of the rear and you should see how to do it. most should be clip's and what not. yank it off and thats it.

You have absolutely no f'ing idea what you're talking about, do you?
A coupe isn't as easy as "clips and what not". The back seat needs to come out, then the side panels, then the rear deck.
I saw a DIY on one of the 7th gen Civic sites, but for the life of me I can't remember what the name of the site is... Google it? :shrugs:

This guy has obviously never installed speakers in ANY car before, let alone a honda. Usually there's no unbolting involved, it is mostly those PITA clips and plastic holders

In this particular car there is indeed unbolting & bolting.

there was no write up that I could really find but I had time to sit there and figure it out ( have a 7thgen civic coupe).
You will need to remove the upper side rear panels (clip on), fold down part of the rear seats, and be able to fold or bend back the side panels to be able to pop and slide the rear deck cover off. (it was a PITA to do all this)
Basically u want to fold down the back seats. the pass. side seat has 2 10mm bolts on the back. Remove those and the p/s seat should come out. After that on the end axle of the driverside rear seat is another 10mm bold. remove and slid the d/s rear seat out.
Pop off top side panels (they are clippped)
On the actual side panels (below the rear side windows) there is a single clip that you will find in the trunk area behind the side panels. Remove the one on each side. Also remove the screws on the armrest/handles on the side panels. After that the side panels pop off (clipped).
Once the side panels are loose, you just have to bend them to get to the rear deck. The rear deck is just one that you lift and slide but there are those stupid clips all over it.

There is nothing wrong with Best buy and any other car audio stores. It's just spending the money for them to install it is what I DON"T WANT TO DO.

Thanks for looking it up for me bro.
I'm most likely will have to find a day to do this. I need to purchase the speakers
first.
On another note. I know that honda's has mostly clips. I've replaced the front speakers myself. wasn't hard at all. So, after reading all the feedback. I'm now deciding on taking the time doing the rear speakers install myself or just let the audio store do it. So um, THANKS EVERYONE!
