Default KARR KS-2040 Alarm help

I was one of those people who when I bought my brand new car fell for the alarm the dealer provides, don't worry I didn't pay the crazy amount they wanted to charge me for it, but yet I still ended up buying it for 1/4 the price.

The alarm is a KARR KS-2040

So I am installing a 98-00 Honda accord trunk opener, part number 08E49-S84-101H into my 2005 civic VP coupe, (here is the link if there is interest in doing this to your car http://www.civicforums.com/for....html) so all I need to do is to wire the 12v+ to the signal wire of my alarm in it will pop open my trunk.

My question is, does the KARR KS-2040 alarm have an output + signal or a negative output, if its negative I will go head and use the relay. (I know for sure it has either a Negative or Positive because my remote has the Trunk button)

Second question where exactly in the alarm is that wire located (12V+ or negative) (pictures or diagrams would be appreciated)

I called the KARR alarm company and they were jerks and said they could not give me any information, that I would have to schedule an appointment with the dealer where I bought the car and then the dealer could called them to go do it for me, all I want to do is connected that wire in to the alarm. It’s only a $40 dollar project and I am not paying them to connect just one wire for me.

Thanks for your future help

More then likely the output will be low current neg.(-), but what wire it is I have no idea, wiring for Karr alarms are not available over the Internet.

I would go to the dealer where you got the car and ask for the wire color and location.

The other option is to see what wires are not being used and put a meter on then one at a time until you find the one that has an output when you press the trunk release button on the remote. 94
