Bringing an EF Back to life
Hi there all - I've got a 1991 Hatchback that really deserves to come back to life, but I cannot figure out how to get spark...
I've replaced the Cap & Rotor - and the coil... I have power to the black & yellow wire and power to the white/blue wire, but no spark.
I found a grey box, with a 16 pin conector with a white & blue wire amongst many others tucked up underneath the passenger dash, and my assumption was that it may be a defunct car alarm - inside the box, the circuit board is labelled "STANLEY S-386IF" and on the outside, it only has "MF06" The harness that goes to this box, joins in right where the ECU wiring meets the firewall, and it looks stock, so I didn't pull it apart to look at it yet. I did remove the odd gray box and it's sitting here next to my computer.
Afterwards I did remove a Solenoid from the main fuse box under the drivers dash, but no luck.
Can aybody point me in any of the right directions ? Any help would be great, as the haynes manual I have doesn't even have the proper schematic for a 91...
Thanks,
Ken

I tried that - no response - I figured it was definately a caralarm gone wrong, and maybe somebody had heard of Stanley car alarms - I sure haven't.

He's right... This doesn't belong here.... I doubt that your '91 has a factory alarm... And you'd know if it was aftermarket because it would most likely be thrown up under the dash with a rats nest of wiring attached to it.
