Weak!EG Build Thread!.. Shaved Bay, Brake Line Tuck, Wire Tuck, Boosted H22!
this is kind of a late starting point but there are 2-3 other threads atleast that show how to completely tear down your car.. so for the sake of time i skipped that part
..
a little history on the car: i picked up the car with a blown motor on the first of january this year. i had a jdm d15b and a few random turbo parts laying around that i had collected over time.. ended up with an ugly red faded paint car that was decently quick.. i ran a few 13 second passes and decided i wanted to do a build.. i have an 01 bmw 330 ci as a daily driver so im not in a rush..
before tearing it apart... bone stock 92' cx hatch.. jdm d15b on 10 psi.

firewall before..

during..

and after..

all interior wiring, cables, and pedal assemblies out.. about the only thing left is to take the steering column out before paint.. but for the point of mobility i am going to leave it in for the time being.

car is going to get all of the holes in the engine bay welded wednesday.. then its a lot of grinding and sanding...
i have also started mocking up my brake lines for the tuck.. will keep updates going.
i hate not having a garage anymore
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
a few crappy camera phone pics today of the hatch progress.. there are still a few holes to fill in including the AC lines hole and the factory wiring harness holes and factory brake line holes.
but here are the pics of the progress...
from this...

to this...

driver side

radiator support

passenger side

more to come soon.. i should get my camera up again this week and ill get some finished weld/grinding pics..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
i ordered a genuine factory interior from honda, some things came in

snaped a few pics this morning. interior is going back in over the next couple of days as i finish the brake lines.
interior is completely undercoated.. as much as i removed from the car, i don't mind the weight, and it cuts down on the noise/vibration on the inside A LOT. everything was removed from the car to do this.. so the wiring harness, steering components, etc are all clean.

back half of the car

wiper assembly plug re-located away from the engine bay

the fuse box location.. i test fit the dash, and its as simple as removing the two screws holding the golve box on to change a fuse if i have any problems.. (just to be safe, all fuses were replaced with brand new fuses to keep from having any problems up front.)

its mounted using stainless hardware with lock washers and lock nuts, and to make sure no moisture gets in the cabin, i used a product called NP-1 to caulk around all of the bolts. It is very sturdy, and i dont think i'll have to worry about it going anywhere.
the prop valve for the brakes is mounted where the airbag unit used to be, but the picture is too dark to see it, will get a more updated pic soon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
fresh undercoating

headlight harness extentions done

fresh interior has been 1/2 installed..
brand new audio console..
undecided if im going to rock the same gauge setup this time around.. seems that some amber DEFI's are calling my name
interior is minty fresh, just wating to paint it and put the gas door release back in so i can put the panel back in on the driver side..

new oem interior FTW!.. still looking for a passenger side sunvisor.. honda is no longer making them

hatchs new heart.. will be rocking pistons/rods/and a 60-1 turbo.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
new brake line setup pics.. in this pic its not done yet but the dimpled hole on the top left corner of the pic is where the stray brake line off the front of the master cylinder goes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
went to the carolinahondas meet at urban import performance and came home with a new set of LCA's for the hatch

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
new parts ordered and more progress made.. will have new pics soon!.

looking back i would have painted the interior to match the car i think, but when i started this project my cash flow wasnt right to afford something like that..
but it quiets down the sound of a 4" turbo back exhaust pretty significantly and i am rocking a full interior so its not seen anyways..
the outside of the car will make up for it
im about 1/2 way done saving for paint.
my d2 coilovers will be here today and my ITR seats will be here sometime this week as well..
money is quite a bit better now than when i started.
