is the 88-91 crx block the exact same as the as th civic 88-91 motor?????????

You left out a lot of valuable info:

Are we talking USDM blocks?

If so, then yes, minus different stroke lengths (1.5L vs. 1.6L).

You can see your block code on the front side of the block near the transmission (ex: D16A6, D15B2, D15B8). What blocks are you comparing?
