Default Question About Air Intake Hoses

Okay so heres the thing. I bought two diffrent intakes. One off ebay and one from AEM. Dont ask why. Now On both of the pipes, there is only one port for one hose. The hose that runs from the Valve cover to the Intake pipe. Now on the stock intake, there is two hoses. One from the valve cover and one from the trottle body. Now on the AEM intake pipe there is only one port for one hose(valve cover hose).

On my ebay intake pipe I drilled a port in the rubber thing(noob) that conects the trottle body to the intake pipe, and put the hose from the trottle body into that port.

Now Im looking at the AEM one and its set up the same. Is that hose from the trottle body needed, or can it be blocked off?

There are not any hoses from the stock intake to the throttle body, but there is on that goes over the TB to the opposite side of the intake manifold to a little valve. Is that what you're talking about?

The only hoses on the TB are 2 coolant hoses sometimes a vacuum line for the MAP.

Almost every intake you buy will probably not have the second hose that connects to the throttle body. i have an AEM and i noticed the same problem. The hose that comes from the throttle body is so small and only pulls a very tiny bit of air its fine to just let it take in unfiltered air. Tie it down to get it out of the way and so it doenst look bad and youll ahve no problems.

My bad. ITs the intake manifold. So its okay to lt it suck in unfiltered air.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Hawkze_2.3 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">There are not any hoses from the stock intake to the throttle body, but there is on that goes over the TB to the opposite side of the intake manifold to a little valve. Yeah, it can suck in unfiltered air or you can just cap it off or remove the valve entirely and put a block-off plate there. It has no noticable effect either way...
