what motor and tranny do you have now? if you can do a full z6 swap you might like it better because of the transmission gearing on the z6

He already has a Z6 I believe he wants someting else. If you want more power... you are SOL, theres no reason to swap out a Z6 fr something that maybe give you 1 or 2 more HP and a weaker torque curve. If the engine is blown just put another Z6 in and call it a day.

Take it to a shop, I mean no offense but if you can't figure it out on your own thats what they are there for. You could have done many things to your engine using N20 on a stock engine. If you can check the basics start there and then you can ecide if you need to take it in to be looked at.

sorry but if your spraying and you dont know the basics to your car then what are you doing?? you should do some reading before you go doing anything major again. but they sell for 300-700 depending on what your buying.

Hey we are only here to offer help, if its not appreciated you can do the work yourself and research. I know some people can be jackasses but you have to take it for what its worth. If you can't figure out whats wrong with it and you wanna swap in a new engine, go for it. But as for me and most of the other people on here we try to diagnose the exact problem and then if we can't fix or or don't know how then we ask for help. I can't offer anything thing else besides asking you to be more specific then, "My car lost a bunch of power", if it worked that way we wouldnt need mechanics who are experts for a reason. There are dozens of posts like yours here in a day, just try to realize it gets annoying to some people when you see it all.

OK, well anyway, if you can take a look at the engine, where is the banging coming from? Are you throwing any CEL's? Check your vacuum lines, do all the stuffa tune up requires. Just start at the smaller things and work your way up. If it turns out you need a new engine, well that sucks, but next time I'd suggest a better route for sourcing power.

i understand where ur comming from. well it sounds like its comming from right behind the header in the left corner. the person who had the car before me put the #1 spark plug wire in the number 2 spot and 2 in 1. so i was killing some spark plugs. my whole engine shakes back and forth when its idling and sounds like a go cart. but when i go it all goes away and only the loss of power is there.

Moted.

The d-series are pretty easy to find. Probably around 4-600 in good condition. Good luck.

There are 'tooooo many stories' because of morons like you. Add oxygen (nos) and no extra fuel and you run very lean and blow **** up. THat *** in the ion actually is doing it right - his car uses a MAF that will actually add fuel unlike your MAP-based ecu.

Blowing sohc's isn't a big issue, but overall people blowing motors because of their ignorance ends up costing everyone who wants to buy a motor later. Supply and demand affects us all, too bad you didn't learn that in school like everyone else has.
