Default Is this YS1 from a GSR or LS

How can I tell if this Ys1 tranny is from a GSR or LS? I'm planning on swapping in a B16 to replace my GSR while it's getting built. I never really thought about my tranny gearing since I had my GSR turboed for a couple years but since I will be running all motor with the B16, I've read here that an LS Ys1 is not a good match for the B16. These are the only pics I can get my camera into so hopefully it helps a little. The bar code on the tranny has been partially torn so I do not have any other ID for it. I also found this site that gives a good reference on gear ratios between the two. http://allmotorhonda.com/techp...s.htm

Don't let anyone tell you to take it apart and count the teeth.

Get a magic marker and start spinning the input shaft and counting till the axle shaft goes around once.

I did that to a YS1 and came up with short gears but they weren't the ratios listed on http://allmotorhonda.com/techp...s.htm for a YS1 GSR they were the ratios listed for a B16/USDM ITR. So either that site is wrong about the YS1 or maybe there were 2 VTEC YS1s, a USDM B17 with a lower 1st gear and a JDM VTEC with B16 hydro gears. or maybe a previous owner of the trans swapped in B16 gears. Years later I confirmed what my calculator told me when I opened the trans to change some pieces and counted the teeth.

Nice. You both directed me to the same post. I'll try this out and hope that I got the GSR Ys1 in there. Thanks again.
