i was thinking about taking the side moldings off my ek. how does it look i have never seen it done on an ek just eg. are they cliped on or glued on? any pics of ek with no moldings? i still want to keep the strip where the molding goes just no molding.

 

They are clipped on, u will have holes in the metal for the clips, check out the jdm thin moldings, they are sweet, icbmotorsport.com has them, and they look better than holes

Ek's look alrite without sidemolding but I think that they look alot better with them. the moldings are clipped on and they do have wholes which means ur gona have to get those whole welded n then repaint that section in other words its jst a waste of time. u can always go thin side moldings they're about $150 for both sides

 

Taking them off is easy, its only a few clips -- take off your door panel and you'll see them from the inside. There is a light application of glue from the factory, so it takes a small bit of force to pry them and break the glue seal, but dont bend/break them. Just be careful and patient. For the rears, you'll need to take out your rear plastic panel, and for the small one in the front, take off the fender -- same deal here with the clips/glue.

You can always go with color matching (which looks best, imho) or JDM M4d TyTe thin ones.

To remove them, you'll need to take them off first of all, weld the holes shut with small plates in the back, and then fill the remaining holes with bondo, sand and paint, and thats all.
