b16 wiring problems
I'm putting an obd0 b16 into my 89 crx si and i'm running into problems plugging some wires in. i have a group of plugs that are underneath the intake mani near the alternater that dont seem to have a home. one has two round plugs covered by a rubber boot and the other is a small oval looking two wire plug. any ideas. could really use the help. thanks people. later
The 2 round plugs covered by a boot are for the knock sensor located at the rear of the block, near the oil filter. It's extremely hard to see without removing the intake mani, or with the motor in the car. If you have one of those extended swivel mirrors like the dentists use, you can see it good enough to plug up the wires. If you notice, those 2 round plugs are seperate, so there's no indefinate way to see how they plug up. I don't think there's a certain way they have to plug in, just as long as they are plugged in.
As for the oval 2 wire plug, does it have 3 wires from it? Between the TPS, MAP, and IACV, the plugs are all the same...that plug is probably from the IACV if it's under the intake manifold. You can't see the connection from the top, but its that little black thing mounted on the back of the intake manifold, towards the top. The plug is directly pointing down, so feel for it, and you will find it.
Let me know if you got 'em to work. If not, take some pics of the plugs, and then maybe I can help a little further. I too have an obd0 b16.

ok i have the knock sensor already pluggd in (pin next to the oil filter) and the plug on the intake manifold is plugged in as too. the only plugs not already taken care of are way out of the way. ie. plug for the thermostat, and two plugs connected to the vtec cylinoid. i"ll try and take some pics of the everything not plugged in on the engine and from the harness.
ok these are the two giving me problems both are under the intake manifold and in the same area as the alternator and the oil filter.
ok so i was told that this is the fan switch and for some reason i have to cut this plug off and put another on so it will fit the plug coming off of the thermostat housing.

small two wire plug doesnt seem to fit any plugs on the engine was told this is the fast idle sensor and does not need to be plugged in

let me know if these seem right to you or if i'm even close.
