CV or front brake problem
Hey, my 2007 Honda Accord that was bought in May at 88 miles on it now has about 10K b/c my gf and I share it and I deliver on weekends. I don't drive it too hard. Not really. Don't race. Its a LX V4 VTEC engine. Seriously, my problem is that recently I've heard this braced snapping/clicking noise on the front wheels when I motion to turn left/right or back out. It happens right when I want to press on the brakes a little more than half the time.
Thought it was a brake pad problem, but I figure I would have heard squealing by now. Guy at work told me it was my CV joints. Could it be anything else relating to the axis/braking system?
1) Is it covered under Honda's general warranty or some warranty since its not at 36K yet?
2) Heard it was expensive to replace. Like 400 a pop each side. Would I save money doing it on base where I could get a lift going at the hobby shop?
Going to get a routine oil change Mon, so I'm going to inform them. But I like to see what I'm in for.
Thanks.

it should most definitely be covered seeing this is a mechanical problem. go in there and demand something being done. this shouldnt be happening on 2007 cars.
400 each side?! That's absurd! A rip off!
Check if the axles boots are cut, or if there's grease around them, the boots are the rubber covers on the ends, located at the very end of the axle, right by the brakes (from a "underside" point of view).
But you can always see what they're going to tell you on monday, be sure to take the car to at least 3 different places to see if they all come to the same conclusion on what's causing the noise, if you wouldn't mind doing that.

Alright, they said that since the 03 models, the "click" noise is just the brake pad shifting. Furthermore, when its extremely hot the pad expands in the heat and you never hear the sound. He said he could put some grease on it or something but it would eventually go back to the way it was. I don't know. Sounds somewhat honest to me. But then again, I never remember hearing this sound in the beginning when I got the car.
He even drove the car a few feet forward and then backward. It made the click/chocking type sound before he told me the above explanation. That's why I'm thinking he knows what he's talking about. What do you all think?

Brake pad shift is common to most newer cars. It just prevents the brake pads from seizing in the calipers. If that's what the noise is then that's right. A single click when backing or going forward for the first time and applying the brakes is normal.
Nothing to worry about
