A couple of questions
Kinda new at this whole thing and i was referred from a friend to join this forum. the problem with my EF is that it wont pass smog because the timing keeps going out for some reason. we re-adjusted it and found out there was oil in the plugs cause the seals were bad. we replaced the seals, spark plugs and spark plug wires. then we adjusted the timing right. when we got to the testing station the timing was off again by 5 degrees and my car is emitting NOx. i know i can change the cat but what do you guys think? also where the hell is the thermostat?
Change the cat and obtain a stock muffler. The hell the thermostat is behind the distributor. It has 4 hose running out of it. Follow water pump pulley. Under the intake manifold is the water pipe at the other end is the housing for thermostat. You have to remove the two bolts to crack open housing. The gasket should be cooked replace it and thermostat. Winter is coming. Good luck man.
thanks man! i have a cluster gauge too from a si. it fits right on and **** but it hella tweeks. like the oil light, engine light, door light, and break light are on at all times even when the key is out. also the gas doesnt go up and the temp is always on hot when i know for a fact that all of those are not true. any ideas?
