Will the car start if....
MM&Y of car??????
On most Honda/Acura the OEM alarm can only be controlled by the OEM remote so you may as well remove it, on some the OEM alarm can be interfaced with the aftermarket alarm.
Although the Compustar is probably the best remote start and alarm/remote start combo for manual transmission cars, it is not the only one, they are also available from AstroStart/Astroflex, Autostart, Polar Start, Audiovox/Prestige, Ultrastart, Blackwidow and I am sure some others, and as mentioned, with the Peripheral NSS module any remote start can safely be used on a standard.

fcm drop some knowledge. The man is an encyclopedia.
It works like the Compustar. Kind of a like a turbo timer. You hit a button on the remote, get out of the car and it's still running. Then it shuts down and will allow you to remote start it. If you find the link from a few days ago when fcm first linked it, you can read the instructions yourself.

I have a 00 SI With Oem alarm. I'm cosidering buying a compustar Pro alarm, but they say that only the Compustar dealers can install Pro alarms and i don't know how stealthy they install the unit, and they are also pretty expensive. Also do aftermarket alarms have like some sort of relay insdie that once you disconnect the brains you can no longer start the car?

Its up to the installer on how good te alarm will be. you add your own relays to be used as swiches.
Trending Topics
Some aftermarket alarms have starter cut relays built in and unplugging them will prevent starting, [with key or at ign. switch] other alarms have starter cut outputs that can be programed for NO, [normally open] and needs the alarm to be plugged in and disarmed to be able to start the car.
You get what you pay for, a top of the line alarm will cost more, a top of the line stealth install will cost more.
We charge about $100 for a basic alarm install, that can easily go to $500 for a full stealth install, up to $1000 for a full load alarm/remote start, keep in mind a good stealth install requires that the dash be pulled, and alarm wiring run inside the OEM dash harness, this takes time, and time is money.

I Called the nearest compustar Pro alarm shop near me, which is still pretty far and they told me that the newest Pro alarm SS will run me $650 installed and that they have a lifetime warranty on installation and brains and 90 day on the remote, i asked them for a back up battery and they said it would be an extra $45. He also said that it would take him about 3 hours. Has anyone had problems with Compustar Pro alarms?
3 hr. will be a basic install, no options, [door locks, starter disable, trunk trigger and so on] and definitely not stealth, if it includes the above, find someplace else, it is a "punch out shop".

I had a ompustar pro alarm installed by a compustar dealer, baisc install look about three hours...i had to have the brain replaced once and the part that simulates the key replaced twice, now it works fine but it took 6 trips back there to get it right. by the way this was on my 2000 accord coupe ex v6 auto...all my problems came from the remote start part of the alarm...

Your next to suspended hatch. Why don't I shipp you the alarm or come pick it up and have him do the install. Then you don't have to worry about a shyty job and it will be done right from the start. And you will have full warranty.

I carry compustar but will not sell them to they fix there issue. Go with the 50.5x or the 20.5x. The 50.5x has better range then the 20.5x and there the same thing. We are local to you.
