Default Caliper Sticking (searched)

I went to pick up a new car today knowing that the offside caliper was sticking on so i took a known working caliper with me and swapped them but the problem was exactly the same.

I'm know thinking it could be the master cylinder but wouldn't that make other calipers stick on aswell?

I searched but didnt come across anyone with only one caliper sticking on from a bad master cylinder.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be or what i might have done wrong?

The car is an EG DOHC with ABS, in the UK its called a VTi but i'm not sure what its known as in the states.

Did you reuse the slide pins? how long was the caliper you brought with you sitting?

I used a new caliper and carrier but they had been sitting on my civic for about 6 months so that could be the problem.

I think i'm gonna get a reconned master cylinder, prop valve and caliper and sell w/e i dont need when i get back.

Is there anything else i should take with me to try?

Thats pretty much every thing in a brake system there unless it has ABS. I can garentee you though that its not the master cylinder.

It is an ABS model.

How do you know it wont be the master cylinder? I'm not doubting you just curious.

I'll take a new soft line with me to try aswell.

The master cylinder is split inside and each side controls 2 calipers. A bad master cylinder would effect at least 2 calipers, if not all of them.

Did you make sure the slider pins were working on the new carrier before you bolted it on and did you reuse the old brake pads (aka the ones that were already slant-worn from the previously sticking caliper pin)?

Ye the pins moved freely on both calipers but i did use the same pads again.

I'm going back up on thursday to try and get it sorted so i'll take a new set of pads with me.

From reading about a bit i think its more than likely a collapsed flexi line so i'll pick up a new one of them aswell.
