Default oil in intake arm

so i removed my sri on my gizzer today. towards the front of the intake, like maybe a few inches in front of the bend, i seen oil in there. more than just residue. so i checked the IM, i seen that there was just some residue in there, nothhing out of the ordinary. and towards the front of the intake near the filter it was clean. i narrowd it down to that some oil is entereing the intake from the hose from the VC and its just sittin in the intake pipe. i doubt this is normal, what would cause this?

PCV and yes, its pretty common, thus the reason catch cans are so popular.

so basicially this happens when the pcv is closed?

because when u turn the car on.. the valve automatically opens due to vaccum so there constant blowby gases being return to IM.. so how does oil gets in the intake tubing?

i dunno? i could see if maybe my valve was bad? but it def. looked like the oil was entering the intake system thru the line coming off the top of the valve cover

The hose going from the valve cover to the intake arm comes from the crankcase which has oil in it, which the air moving bewteen the two carries a slight bit of oil....which builds up in your intake.

im bumpin this back up. i think the oil build up in the intake arm is causing my IACV problmes(rough idle) and this is after a new one was installed. i re-installed my catch can, but thats just catchin the oil vapors from the pcv system. i'm still get the vapors collectin in the intake...so heres my idea. what if i were to install one of them small clear plastic inline fuel filters in that line somewhere? think maybe it something like that would work? think the filter element will hold up? im not talkin like a gm inline fuel filter, im talking like the see thru ones that are roughly a inch and a half long and like half an inch wide
