Default b16 radiator in my crx

i just put a b16 in my crx of course as you all know the b-series engine is way bigger then the d-series. well i still have the stock radiator in my crx, the stock rad. for my si takes two fans when i put the b16 the headers wont allow the 2nd fan to be installed.

so my question is, is it ok to keep the stock rad. and one fan in my crx? or if not how do i install the smaller civic rad. and fan in my crx?

You don't need to change the radiator. You can bend the drivers side fan to clear the header by laying it face flat and standing on the center so it collapses some. Don't go to far or when you reinstall it, the blades will touch the delicate fins of the radiator and rip it up.

You do realize the drivers side fan only switches on when the AC compressor is running right? Point is if you don't have AC installed, you don't need it. I run the factory AC system with my B16 and it works great, tight fit, but easily doable.

You only need one fan. Any if you plan to get a eg civic half size radiator remember that they are smaller than crx si ones. The total capacity of si is 3/4 gallons and civic half size is 5/8 gallons.

Hey guys, in reference to this issue:

I dont have a header clearance issue but do the AC lines need to be custom done or is there a way to do it without editing the lines? It doesnt look like i can do wthout customizing the lines but i wanted to know how you got the AC working on your b16.

(sorry to thread hijack btw )

The ac lines should have enough clearance. No custom lines needed.

I'll try to get one, but it will be tight for you to see anything.

Get the compressor side fittings from the sanden as opposed to mastua one, they bend different and BTW, only the sanden fits with the B16 and the available brackets.

Very much disagree with the above post about needing one fan. The EF has two fans, one comes on via the radiator temp switch, the other when the ac compressor clutch locks. Run without the AC fan, and you could overheat the compressor as well as the car in heavy hot traffic. Honda meant for the cars to have two fans, I wouldn't do anything else.
