can you guys tell me if i went overboard with the stuff?

all ppg, high build primer, sealant, base, clear, hardeners, reducers.
i got a DA, some sand paper, sanding blocks with rolls of sand paper, etc.
the guy told me about this additive you put onto the plastic pieces so that the paint won't crack once you flex these pieces, so i got that.
i did the $50 paint job, it sucks, now i'm redoing it. spent $14xx.xx on all the supplies in that pic. i want it to be perfect.
here's the car:

i'm starting tonight i have free until next thursday, we'll see how far i get, i'll document everything along the way.
let me know what you guys think

lol spot on. good choice in supplies. the ppg paint is my favorite all around. if you don't have alot of body work 1 week should be plenty of time oh and some times beer helps the paint gun flow in your hand a little
just a little word for wisdom when trying to get things perfect. and don't be afraid to sand everything down and start over.

I've never seen a good $50 paint job in person. Any car can look good in pictures on the internet.

What's the break down of the stuff and the prices? $1400 is a lot to commit to....</TD></TR></TABLE>
the base was like 350, clear 350, i dunno, i'll update you tomorrow on that one. i took a break this year to let my bank acct catch up.

nothing wrong with the $50 paint job, mine came out great except in the covered areas where it turned yellow for whatever reason... oh well
here's what i got done today, the whole exterior is pretty much sanded down, 80grit (i was using 220grit but that wasn't working too good...
i then followed everything up with 180grit.
tomorrow i'm going to take the doors off, block everything down, make sure everything is straight then i'll start on the interior...

i'm waiting for my paint guns that i ordered on Monday, i paid for 2 day shipping, it's now 4 days later, i still don't have them
i might go out and buy new guns and return the ones that should be coming soon if it gets to that point.
i am blocking the whole car down, its too hard to try and get all the white paint off - it'd take me days...
let me know what you guys think. i'm going to try and locate someone to come out tomorrow and remove all the windows, windshield will get replaced, quarter panel windows will be installed again once i get to that point.
