The 88's are lighter due to the seat belt and belt re-tractor (not sure if thats it's name) being on the pillar and not the door. All the seat belt stuff in your door weighs about 10-15 lbs.

Now they just told you it was the seat belt retractors that add the weight.
The doors are the same.
