WW rs kit door caps *Help*
I am installing some WW Rs Urethane door caps and am having issue with the door caps. They dont fit properly. The cap dosen' sit flush on the door. Either the top or the bottom edge lays flat on the surface at one time. The contour of the door prevents it from fitting from top to bottom.
My question is: Has anyone had similar issue? If so how did you overcome this issue?
Ill try and get pics.
Thanks for any input on the issue.
Matt.

If you push down, wil both tpo and bottom sit flush?
We just countersunk some screws and went right into the door. We also used epoxy as a glue around the edged of the cap. Fill with putty, sand, paint and your done.

i found a pair at the yards before, it was held by doublesided tape all the way around with about 4-5 self tapping screws holding the bottom from inside the door edge.

I never installed them, they are just sitting. Mine was from a hatch though so no door trim for me. For yours though, I'd assume you need to remove it, I could be wrong though. If the WW door cap doesn't have an indentation for the trim, then remove it. Make sense?

I was going to add that you can get a heat gun and heat it up a lil and make it more flexible. Ir you plan on molding them in i suggest that you use something that has some elasticity to it so that it has less of a chance from cracking back out after time from the everyday vibrations and slamming of the doors. I used a stiff paintable epoxy that a guy from the body shop at the dealership i used to work at gave me.. I never got around to getting it sprayed because of switching jobs and such and well after about 6 months it started to crack.. Glad it happened before i ever put some paint on it... Make a l ong story short its now two years later and im just starting back working on the ol hatch...i do dread re doing all that sanding and stuff... But atleast now i know what not to use lol..
