Help with a 01' P28 ecu?
I have a 01' gsr motor in a 99 hatch and im trying to use the 01' p72 ecu everything is good except for the fact that in 01' Acura has an igniton immobilizer. Is there a way to get around it?.....

go back to the person who stole the motor. ask them for the key. lol jk jk.
You either have to:
get the ignition switch and key for the car that the ECU was from. This can be costly.
Or you can get a 99 GSR ecu.
Or you can do a OBD2B - OBD2A conversion (if they make that) and just get a 96-98 GSR ECU. (your car is OBD2B)
Or you can do a OBD1 conversion. Buy an OBD2B to OBD1 conversion harness and either a chipped P28 or a OBD1 GSR ecu. Buy a 99 EX computer for emissions time.

or just open the ECU case and rock the raised board back and fourth untill it breaks off, then you will have a constant CEL, your car will run but you will fail emissions

thats a kewl thread...
that will not work with prelude ecu's tho. they wont even start if you remove the immo board.
with acura ecus you can put a hack board in place of the immo that will not tho any cells, and it will disable the immo. preluds dont have this hack. from all that ive read there is no fix for immo with prelude ecus.
