why do my brake lights stay on?
take a break everybody..i'll field this one
on the brake pedal bracket there is a switch(known as the brake light switch)
on the brake pedal arm there is usually a small round plastic piece the pops into a small hole(this is commonly known as the brake pedal stopper)
i suspect that you are missing the pedal stopper(common for these to break at this age)
goto honda, tell them you need pedal stopper...my guess is somewhere around $2-$3

if u get under the dash and look at the brake pedal ull see a round switch of sorts... now depress the pedal and ull see a lil button come out...well the lights will stay on if that button is partially out...so try pulling the pedal back toward the seat to push the button back in...if that makes the lights go out...then just glue a penny to that rubber thing where the button gets pushed in and its fixed!!

I certainly aint smarter than anybody here, but Hey, lil cz, don't you think that the break switch is on the breack pedal???? if you don't know where the **** this one is situated, Maybe I'll take a guess and tell you to try the one between the clutch and the gas???' there is no other switch on the break pedal,
get some glue instead of tape, this will work better.

I think we may be discussing two different problems here. If the brake light on the dash is on, like earlier mentioned, put down the E brake, or check your brake fluid level. now if your Brake lights stay on when your foot is off the brake. you can glue pennies and all of that crazy ****, but if you want to do it right, adjust the damn switch. now if you notice this little plastic thing lying on your driver side floorboard, you will need to replace the stopper on the brake pedal and possibly adjust the switch too. Very easy, can be done in minutes. now if you can't reply to this post because you have a damn penny glued to your finger. Well, thats your problem.
