Actually, I deliberately ignore other import drivers. I pretend I don't even see them.

Not necessarily. The anonymity of this board is the chief reason I feel comfortable using it. The best of both worlds is interaction without contact.

Odds are that guy is not a member of Honda-Tech.

or he bought his type R because he wanted the one with the wing.

Alot of people (including me) are afraid to interact with the "import community" for fear of getting our car jacked or vandalized. The only import people I socialize with are my close friends.

Were you the guy with the AEM Intake I put in? Can't remember.....You should come out to the Thursday ITR meets. I don't see too many in the Burlington/Oakville area. You can catch me cruising around in Bronte most weekends.....Any R owners I've met around here have been cool.

I guess all the attention the guy gets from everybody got to his head.

This one guy that i met as i was driving through a parking lot asked me "if it was a real ITR" and i was like "Yeah" and he asked if i could pull over to check it out.I was like cool,no problem.I even let the guy who i didn't really know and who was sooo stoked about seeing one that i let him drive it.I didn't even know the guy for not even an hour. When i look back now,i was like damn that was crazy..But

The guy himself had a really nice GSR,so i knew he wasn't some clown and that he would drive cool.He let me drive his car too. It's like we had a timeshare goin on.
I had to beg the dude to put in to vtec he was too scared to drive it the way i wanted him too.

I just wish more people can just be cool, instead of all stuck up cuz they own an R.

I also knew this guy Paul his license plate said "EGOTRIP" I was like WTF!
His plate doesn't say that anymore though. But all in all he is a real cool guy though. But from his plate i would've thought of him as a *****.

That guy may have just stole a really nice gsr and decided that he would trade it in for a type R...

Actually I saw a girl driving a Yellow R, I drove up next to her, honked and waved. She just looked at me and then kept driving. I don't know what's wrong with people.

Maybe he was blind and from 25' away your R looked like a riced out integra. I for one would've been all over your R.

come on, look at his avatar of course

but yes, i too, even agree with the accused geek

i had people harass me, rev on me, stop me in a parking lot to say "yo my high school friend wants to race you in his stock civic SI...." ... i reply "no thanks" ... he replies "you ******* ***** race him" and kicks my car. (he receieved the beating of his life and a call to the cops)

even with a fellow type R owner, im weary.

MK Ultra.......your a queer.......your everything i hate about the import scene.....
That's just it, I'm not part of the import scene. In fact, I detest the implication that as a result of the car I drive I am automatically part of a "scene." That is part of why I chose to ignore other imports. To me it is just a car, just my own personal preference in transportation, and should not be looked at as a reflection of my personality or culture. I love my car, but it is solely for my own enjoyment. I did not buy it, nor did I modify it, to become a part of some silly cultural phenomenon, or to impress people I don't know.

Am I "too good" to associate with other import owners? No. Some of my closest friends share my enthusiasm for similar cars. But all the same, I prefer not to be lumped into some category simply because of what I drive.

All I do is live and let live. All I ask is for others to extend me the same courtesy (which sometimes seems too much to ask, apparently). How does leaving other people alone make me a queer? And why on earth should you waste your time hating me? I certainly don't hate you, nor anyone else on this board. One of the things I like about this internet community known as Honda-Tech is that I need take nothing personally, since nobody here knows me personally (and no, I will not come to any h-t meets. I don't even want people to know what state I live in).

The point of my original post was that you shouldn't be offended by the fact that another ITR owner was less than sociable to you in person. Some of us just don't want to be a part of a scene. Don't take it personally.
