i bought an S2000 filter for my first gen b16. i thought this filter was supposed to be smaller than the regular civic filter to increase oil pressure? anybody else use the s2000 filter on their b16?

 

All honda filters are the same part number, except the s2k witch has a larger filter. I ran a s2000 filter on my 06 Si before it got stolen and it did quite well.

 

Every single filter for hondas is gonna be tiny except for Pilot, which you cant use...and the s2000 which you can use, but is a bigger filter.

 

Damn i didnt kno the pilot had a larger filter?

 

s2000 filter is larger and would decrease oil pressure. not something you want to use on a B series engine.

The Pilot uses the same size filter as all other Hondas part #15400-PLM-A02. The S2000 is the only exception part #15400-PCX-004.

actually.. a little tidbit of Honda history, the oil filters that they USED to sell for the d and b-series were the same size as the s2000 filters.. For some reason, around 2002, they started making the stock oil filters for the d and b smaller. I still have an "old style" filter floating around my garage, and if i can find it, i will post pics.

I run the s2000 oil filter on my d16 and i have no issues with oil pressure.

 

i thought S2000 filters raised the pressure too.
sorry.... threadjack.....will a hose clamp wrapped around the filter increase /stabilize the oil pressure?
