iab solenoid
there is no solenoid...per se, but the actuator is located on the driver side of the intake manifold, which is hooked to a diaphram which is connected to a black box which senses the appropriate signal to open valves.

The solenoid is attached to that black box, no? That's how I think it was setup when I pried if off.

Correct. Blake the little black thing with the big round cap (just a simple air filter btw) is a solenoid to close the vac off and let the iab open.

And to the OP it's sort of buried under the IM, towards the driver's side of the car iirc. I'm not entirely sure how I'd get at it with the IM on the car but it's possible I imagine.
i rebuilt my motor and took it to have tuned and they told me to run my stock injectors and map sensor for 500 miles for a break in.. So i put 500 miles on it and went to hit vtec and it does nothing just goes to redline but no sound pitch change or anything. Any ideas?
