Default Street Tune vs. Dyno Tune?!? Kpro / Stock Motor!

A buddy was over at the house the other night after the Nopi Nationals. He was looking at the kpro software on my laptop and also showed me the engine management for his VR4 Galant.

I was supposed to get the exhaust and dyno tune last Friday. Unfortunately I didn't get the car running until late friday. My buddy does not see why I need a dyno tune when the motor is 100% stock. "Unless you are trying to squeeze every ounce of power out of the motor I don't see why you can't street tune it".

I definitely would prefer to tune the car from my laptop since the plan is to boost the motor in 2008. Of course then the motor would have a nice tune performed. If the $280 is a difference of 12hp I'd rather save my money. To be honest if I can get the stock 200 hp for now and have a relable / quick car I will be more than

Are there any street tune guides out there? Also, he had a bunch of data logs saved from other VR4 runs. Are any posted here on K20a.org?

Car: 95 Vx
Motor: K20a2 (2003) 100% stock
