I can usually tell when the car needs tuning. There will be signs.

my car be choking and dies in the middle of no where if i stick it in neutral. when i gas it harder it doesn go no where the boost gauge reads 1 or 2 psi only. i dont know if its tuning matter.

unless something changes, I cant see it needing it... but that being said, it wouldnt hurt to throw a wideband on it and check the A/F every now and again
or put it on the dyno and see if the power levels are still around the same... obviously the air isnt gonna be the same.. but it shouldnt be off that much...
I picked up 40 more tq one day when i threw the car on the dyno to see how it was still running.. The hp was IDENTICAL, but the tq was way up

If a new motor is dropped in, but the same exact motor, all stock, would it be good to re-tune the new motor? Every motor is different, but would there really be a need to re-tune if the motor is the same thing stock?

should be close, but another tune will be needed if you want it to be 100%

yo ej1252... i'm having the same problem.. tell me if you fixed it? does your car idle pretty low and it wants to die and choking.. cause mines is doing that and i just put the turbo in... haven't got it tune yet too.. i wonder if its the ECU?

nope didn't fix it yet, yea my car will idle low and then out of no where if im in neutral or just stick it into first gear without letting go of the clutch, the car would just die/stall out right away. i was thinking it was the ecu too cause i had a loose wire came out but i solder it backed up and its still doing the same thing. my car is tune but its been awhile. someone told me to get colder spark plugs or something like that but idk. i know your problem is that you need a good tune, like check your air/flow and all that, you gon need to chip the ecu if it already hasnt been.

Are you talking about PEAK numbers? Because HP is a calculation from torque...so if Torque went up, so did HP in those spots...

To the OP, you should only need to be retuned if something changes MECHANICALLY in the system...
