Default Questions About Swaps and Exhaust

Okay so Ive been shopping around for this H22a JDM swap from my current H23a1. Im wondering about how much this swap would run total. From what I can gather, the only thing that I need to make this swap complete is the H22a JDM long block and its ecu. So do you guys think that about 1500 bucks for the motor, ECU, and shipping should be suffiecent to cover all the charges?

Also, Im gonna be doing my headers, and exhaust the next free day I get. I bought an exhaust kit with 2.25 piping, and a high flow cat that is 2.5. Will this pose a problem?

$ 1500 would Not cover for the JDM h22 motor, its ECU, and shipping charges. Try around $ 2300 for a Good deal on the package.

$1500 would cover the cost of the engine + ECU, but not shipping.

Well Thanks, anyone ever get a motor off ebay before. I just checked it a few mins ago. I seen H22a for about 950 plus shipping, excluding ecu. That sounds like a good price. Anyone ever have any problems with motors from ebay?

Also I really need to know about that High flow cat, and if it will be alright when installing. Thanks for everyones input

Yeah, thanks. I think password JDM is out of stock on the JDM H22 blocks. Hmotors sounds good, heard nothing but good stuff about them. But I actually think Im gonna try that ebay dealer with the sumo wrestler logo. I almost bought off him last year. He seems like he is doing good business. Plus wrking with a budget here. Ill defiently keep you guys posted when I do the purchase.

Im guessing since no one said anything about hooking up a 2.5 highflow cat to 2.25 piping It must be okay. Im probally gonna bust out with search button tonight when I get home to my labtop.

You can't just weld 2.25 inch piping to a 2.5 inch cat.

buy some flanges or a size adapter

If you think you're working on a budget now, wait until your crappy ebay h22 gets in your car and starts eating your wallet like I just did this tasty lasagna.

Don't forget the additional cost for the timing belt, water pump, idle pulley, misc gaskets. Possible motor mounts, clutch, and related parts since you have the thing apart. I would aside another few hundred bucks just in case.

theres an imported JDM h22a front clip from a 4th gen here.. its a couple months old, auto tranny and he wants 1200 for the whole front clip. so i wouldn't say its impossible to get it for 1500 shipped.
