Default 90 CRX Timing issues

We just spent 7 hours working on this car, from 10pm-530 am.. ill do my best to make this coherent.
This cars timing belt broke, my friend had no idea, and tried push starting it and lots of other things. We removed the head, and the valves were fine, apparently, miraculously. No obvious damage or bending, they looked to seat just fine.

We've got everything reassembled, we set the timing, and it should be right
Either way, Cylinder 3 isnt firing, but its getting spark. We tried adjusting the cam gear 2 teeth one way or the other. I think when we retarded it it wouldnt fire at all, and when we advanced, it did the same thing w/ no firing on #3.
dont know where to go from here
