front lca rubbing rotor!
93 del slo si with h&r race springs and omni power camber correction. i just finished a gsr swap and realised that my front lca's are rubbing so bad it has dug a groove in the rotor and i didnt notice it before the swap but now it much worse and too bad to even consider driving. i already swapped three different knuckles thinking it was a ball joint and yes i searched. please help
i had the same problem, i also changed out the knuckles thinking it was the ball joint. it ended up being the lower control arms, i guess they were bent some how....

Indeed.
I'd say it's pretty obvious that someone's car has never touched an alignment rack . . .

oh yeah. not sure if your implying me but i had a alignment about three months ago after the suspension and cc. but the guy at the shop said nothing about rubbing or bent lca's so i guess it happened recently. but thanks for the help
What ends up happening is when you lower your car too much the upper control arm OEM or after market will hit the shock tower. if you take the shock out of the front and bolt the wheel back on then jack up the suspension from the lower arm you can see how far it goes till it stops (upper control arm hits the shock tower). about in the middle of the tire. when this happens the susp becomes solid and things bend or break. the lower you go the more spring rate you need to limit travel.

Someone else had this problem recently, and I can't remember if a bent LCA was the problem there or not. It's crazy because I don't even see how my LCA could touch my brake rotor. I still have the dust shield behind my rotor, also, and there's plenty of clearance between the LCA and the dust shield.
if you look at the lca and the rotor distance when lower the car vs it being raised you will see that the clearance reduces as the car gets lower. if you bottom out the susp and bend the front lca it can further reduce clearance to the point of contact.
