Default Wideband w/ Neptune = Better gas mileage?

Here is my setup https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2035882

Would hooking up a wideband to my RTP get me better gas mileage? cause it sucks up gas like crazy.

I was thinking of hooking one up and setting a target a/f voltage.

Theoretically, yes. Getting the ECU to read the analog output of your wideband correctly is the main problem. The voltage can tend to jump around for no reason due to grounding and other electrical issues.

im sure it wouldnt hurt... with e85 im getting 29mpg highway and 26mpg city. i have my a/f's in the low 16's under cruise conditions. i would imagine that with a little more tuning better gas mileage could be achieved. hope this helps u out a little

that's about what I get with gasoline..

What were you thinking of setting your target a/f under cruise to be?

can neptune read the wideband signal and try to get to a target? or is it just there for you to "tune" in on a specific afr

yeah just use the wideband to tune leaner while cruising. im running mid 15's afr with no hesitations up to around 8" vacuum and i get 30-31mpg on a 2 liter lsvtec turbo

When tuning with E85, stick to LAMBDA...shoot for the same numbers you would with gas...about 1.0 while cruising.

FWIW, I got about 35 mpg with my LSV Turbo running open loop Neptune RTP with my cruising 93 Octane gas AFRs at 15.3-15.6

Not really, its all in the tuning & driving conditions.

We have tuned several turbo 1.8L setups w/ a/c etc that get 28-32 mpg in mixed driving conditions using no o2 feedback at all :-)

my wideband reads lambda but its in a gas conversion so when i tuned the e85 the gauge is reading 16.1-16.2 under cruise.
